We recommend that our patients get a regular dental check-up at least once per year. During this appointment the Dentist will:

  • check your overall health and oral hygiene,
  • chart each of the teeth in your mouth
  • take X-rays
  • check your bite and jaw alignment

The Dentist will then discuss a treatment plan and any work that is required. If any work is required the costs will be fully outlined and discussed before proceeding.

We offer special examination rates for children. It is our Practice policy to encourage parents to introduce their child to the idea of a dental examination at 3 years of age. We want to make it a pleasant and fun experience for your child, where there is no element of fear, and a reward of a ‘dental gift’ (stickers, new tooth brush etc.)

Filling of milk teeth €60
Fissure sealants per tooth €25

During a scale and polish treatment your teeth will receive a thorough cleaning from our dentist. This cleaning involves the scaling away of tartar build-up on your tooth surfaces and then the polishing of your teeth. We finish off our scale and polish by using a Kavo Prophyflex 3 powder blast handpick for the removal of stains and bacterial plaque and the cleaning of enamel surfaces. This special cleaning gives a higher performance for perfect cleaning results. We recommend that patients get a professional dental cleaning at least once per year, although some patients need to come and see us every three to six months.

Dental crowns are used to improve the size, shape, strength and appearance of broken down or discoloured teeth. When a crown is placed in the mouth it blends in with the other natural teeth making it look like a seamless part of your smile.

Dental bridges are used to bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Using two crowns as anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and a false tooth in between, the dentist will fill the gap in your smile.

Bruxism is a common condition whereby excessive teeth grinding or jaw clenching wears down the tooth. Some of the commonly associated symptoms with bruxism include hypersensitive teeth, aching jaw muscles, headaches, tooth wear, damage to dental restorations (e.g crowns and fillings) and damage to teeth. In many cases headaches can be one of the only short term side affects of Bruxism and therefore people may not be aware of the condition. If you are suffering with Bruxism we would generally recommend a mouth guard to protect your teeth, and minimise the effects of the grinding. However, it might be advisable to seek help with the underlying stress or anxiety that may be causing the condition.
